Various interactive events organized in the center aim to bring out the talents and creative aspects of the students, aiming to hone their skills , showcase their best of abilities. In the process all the students get to know each other and it helps to build in them the spirit of working with each other as a good team.
A week long photography event, giving a platform to all to showcase their creativity by capturing them in frames. It was not only for the people who owned cameras but also for the mobile category, as it is said what u capture is important and not the medium. It was an overwhelming response as not only our students but there were many external participants too. the objective was successful as we received entries consistently throughout the seven days and the paticipants made sure.
Poster competition was organized to celebrate the Independence Day and the theme was "FREEDOM" . Shoupal Panda won the prize for designing the best poster.
RUDYARD KIPLING says , " If history were taught in the form of stories , it would never be forgotten. Storyboard simple means a visual outline that easily conveys a series of events with a minimum amount of effort and detail on the part of the creator by using static panels. A five day master class workshop was organized to create awareness among the students of the importance of pre-production in the field of animation and live cinema. This workshop was taken by industry expert Mr. Sutirtha Bhattacharya ,storyboard artist currently working for television series. The students were taught how to develop concepts, write and read scripts, penning down screenplays, knowledge about screen direction, posing of characters and framing them in composition and corerect perspective. It was quite informative as students realized that it is not only the technical aspect but also the aesthetics and creative aspect which is required along with it .
Apart from many such events MOVIE SCREENINGS are held every month. Its not just the entertainment, but also a discussion platform about the movie that is screened. We get reviews, discuss the making ,the methods and the like. Movies shown this quarter were Resident Evil, Johnny Express , Zero,
Seminars help to acquaint students with the latest developments in the subject and provide them additional knowledge apart from their regular course topics. We organize faculty Seminars on a monthly basis and also seminars from industry experts.
An awesome seminar was taken by Mr Ranen Sinha on Advanced Pass Under Linear Workflow with Maya & Fusion. What could be concluded at the end was in order to get proper output after lighting a 3d scene and pass rendering and compositing, it is essential to follow linear work flow.In case , we fail to do so the final output becomes high in contrast and gives darker effect. This mainly happens due to the gamma settings.
Rigging is an essential part of animation. . It requires logical and methodical workflow, following which, rigging gets simplified. It's always good to build your rig in the most flexible way, the more poses and complex motion your rig can perform without breaking, the more fun it will be for an animator to use it, and therefore the better the animation will be. In reference to the market , we do have a dearth of riggers so if you perform well, you have a great scope.
In this section we bring forth all our student's works ,its a platform to display their creativity through write-ups , sketches, digital works and similar stuff.
